7^th graders in Ms. White’s and Ms. Morris’s reading classes have been enriching their social studies curriculum about the Civil War by reading and discussing Civil War related novels and picture books. For one of their most recent assignments, they read the book Seven Miles to Freedom: The Robert Smalls Story and reflected upon a quote by Robert Smalls. These podcasts reflect their interpretation of the quote and its relevance to what they are reading in their Civil War novels.
